What to do in a Dental Emergency

Dental emergencies can be stressful, whether you have a soft tissue injury or your child has had a tooth knocked out. Our goal is to keep you and your family as comfortable as possible. We leave time open in our schedule each day to ensure that we can attend to emergency patients quickly. Now, here’s what you can do to help.

Stay Calm

Easier said than done, right? Staying calm can help ensure that you don’t injure yourself further and help keep an anxious child calm as well. If this is proving to be difficult, we’re happy to help you relax with gentle and safe sedation options. These can also help ease the pain which makes it easier to stay calm.

Apply Pressure

If you see any bleeding around an oral injury, apply a cold compress to the area to help stop the bleeding. This can also help relieve any swelling or pain you’re experiencing.
